Wine Information

The Chenin Blanc comes from young vines in a vineyard near Caudiès de Fenouillèdes, which has been organically farmed since 2007. Clay, limestone, and some slate predominate there. The harvest was carried out with a yield of around 30 hl/ha, then the Chenin was pressed as whole bunches and fermented spontaneously. The wine was then briefly aged on the fine lees in concrete tanks and filled unfiltered with a small amount of sulfur.

Colour

Medium straw yellow

Nose

With the Chenin by Majas, you would hardly suspect that the vines here are located so south. It appears pleasantly cool and bright with notes of lemon and lime, some crisp green pear, and green plum. Added to this are the slight nuttiness and subtle stoniness.

Palate

On the palate, the Chenin by Majas is equally bright and clear, with an impressively fresh citrus acidity that, combined with the immediate salinity, is mouthwatering. This is a wine with plenty of energy and tonic aspects.
