Wine Information

Los Magines is a blend of Tempranillo and small amounts of Mazuela, Viura, Grenache Blanc, and Malvasia. The grapes come from Moreda in the Rioja Alavesa. The Valdemarra vineyard is located at an altitude of 480 meters. It has stony, clayey soil with limestone. The vines are trained as goblet bush vines in the vineyard. After being hand-picked and sorted, the grapes were destemmed and fermented spontaneously at a maximum temperature of 25°C. The wine was aged in French barriques.

Slightly transparent garnet red

Nose

The aroma of this Tempranillo, which also contains small amounts of white varieties in the traditional way, is fresh, floral, and penetrating. Violet blossoms, rose petals, a hint of jasmine, and dark fruits appear ripe but crisp, accompanied by fresh herbs, warm bread, and cooked almonds.

Palate

On the palate, Los Magines is elegant, refined, and sensual, with a noticeable but distinctive fine tannin, a clear, balanced acidity, and juicy yet fleshy fruit that combines red and blue berries with notes of undergrowth, some cinnamon bark, sloe, and subtle oak. This is a fresh, clear, almost tonic Rioja with plenty of tension and very good length.
