Description
“Winemaker of the Year” 2015 in Falstaff, “Collection of the Year” 2018 in Eichelmann, “Best Dry Riesling” (Gault&Millau 2016) and 100 points for the Rothenberg. The awards for Kühling-Gillot are piling up. Together with her husband H.O. Spanier, Carolin Spanier-Gillot has led the winery to the top in Germany. Top vineyards such as the ROTHENBERG, HIPPING, ÖLBERG and PETTENTHAL in the famous Roter Hang are part of the Kühling-Gillot portfolio. The cultivation of these unique vineyards has been carried out according to biodynamic methods for several years. Carolin & H.O.’s credo: “For us, ripeness is a purification process: the aromas of the grape melt away and the aromas of the site, the soil, and the stone come to the fore. Only then does our genius loci – the Rhine terrace and the slate soil of the Roter Hang – come into its own.”
