Wine Information

Physiologically highly ripe grapes were harvested from a selection of Muscat à Petit Grains vines on September 9, 2021. Intracellular maceration took place for ten days in kvevri, after which the wine was aged for 14 months on the lees without intervention in 600-liter tonneaux with a 10% share of fresh berries. Bottling took place without fining with 35 mg/L sulfites in February 2023. The pH is 3.36, and the residual sugar is 1 gram.

Colour

: Fairly cloudy, light golden yellow.

Nose

This is a Muscat nose that packs a punch. The grape variety is clearly recognizable, the aroma intense but not overpowering. Rather, a completely unique world of roses, nutmeg and grapefruit zest, bitter oranges and lime zest opens up here – especially with air – along with unusual notes such as baked celery, fresh garden herbs and wet, fired clay.

Palate

On the palate, the wine initially appears silky and grippy thanks to the distinctive tannin. The acidity, which initially seems subtle, becomes increasingly present on the palate. The floral notes and the bright, particularly citrus fruit provide a clear nutmeg aroma, while the zest brings piquant, bitter nuances to the wine. The wine is dense and lean at the same time, as well as salty, taut and long. Everything intertwines skillfully; it is clearly fermented on the skins, but not overpowering.
