Wine Information

100% Meunier from the 2022 vintage from the Champagne (white wine) and Sablonnière (red wine) plots with calcareous clay and silt. The average age of the vines is 35 years. 78% of the wine was pressed as a white wine, and 22% was aged as a red wine in wood. No filtration, no fining, natural malolactic fermentation. Tirage took place in March 2023, and disgorgement in April 2024. 1,921 bottles, non-dosed.

Colour

Bright ruby red, slightly transparent, initially very effervescent, then calm perlage.

Nose

Colette is a very distinctive rosé champagne. This is evident not only in the colour, but also in the aroma. It’s reminiscent of black cherries, blackberries, blueberries, and a hint of cassis, figs, vanilla, and oak, with a touch of oyster shell and graphite.

Palate

I can’t remember ever having a champagne with such a pronounced wood note in my glass. Amazingly, it works very well. The rosé, which looks more like a claret, shows plenty of red and dark fruit, juicy and fleshy sweet and sour cherries, berries, a delicate spice of cinnamon, more vanilla, and the wood, which is very well integrated. For all its substance, the wine seems fresh and light-bodied, lively and powerful with lively perlage and a fine tannic grip.
