Product description for Jean-Marc & Thomas Bouley Bourgogne Côte d’Or Pinot Noir AOC 2021
Wine Information
The Pinot Noir comes from a total of 0.97 hectares of plots in Volnay on the lower slope. The average age of the vines is 30 years. The soil is deep and clayey on a limestone base. The grapes were fully destemmed this year. Fermentation took place for two weeks in open fermentation vats, followed by 12 months of aging in barriques. The proportion of new wood was 10%.
Colour
Medium garnet red, slightly translucent
Nose
The Bourgogne Côte d’Or 2021 is a fresh, fragrant, and juicy Volnay, reminiscent of ripe cherries and sour cherries, raspberries, cranberries, and a touch of yeast, wet pebbles, and some undergrowth.
Palate
On the palate, the Bourgogne Côte d’Or is lively and clear, with notes of red and black berries, some cherry, herbs, and a finely balanced Pinot Noir smoothness. This vintage is characterized by lively acidity, fine tannins, and crisp fruit. At the same time, it is a harmonious, refined Pinot.
