Nose

The 1ère Trie from the »Le Haut-Lieu« vineyard stands out from the Moelleux with a somewhat mustier note of pears and apples as well as a slight spiciness on the nose, which comes from the higher concentration of sugar. The always light-footed Le Haut-Lieu becomes somewhat heavier and denser here, the aromas transition into the realm of candied and dried fruits, some honey and wax are noticeable, but here too you can sense the freshness. The 1ère Trie reveals itself slightly exotic with air. The aromas of pineapple, papaya and persimmon push out the stone fruit and combine with a light spiciness.

Palate

The Haut-Lieu 1ère Trie is a fine example of how a succulent, ripe opulence and a cool clarity are not mutually exclusive, but rather complement each other. The acidity of the Haut-Lieu carries the sweetness in its stride. The palate is dominated by freshness and bright fruit notes, which lead from the slightly exotic nose to the yellow and golden stone fruit aromas. Despite all the ripeness of the 1ère Trie and all the sweetness guaranteed here, the lively acidity offers ample scope for flavour combinations.
