Product description for Heinrich Sa va 2023 (bio)With this Savagnin, Gernot and Heike Heinrich are dedicating themselves to an extraordinary project that is only available in very small quantities. The grapes come from biodynamically managed vineyards, grow on limestone, and are harvested by hand, pressed directly, and fermented spontaneously in amphorae. After 11 months on the lees, the wine unfolds its unmistakable style.

Nose

The nose of the 2023 Savagnin Gelber Traminer from Gernot and Heike Heinrich radiates tremendous tranquility and depth. The delicate reduction is reminiscent of flint and salted lemons, followed by dried quinces and plump pears. This is complemented by dried herbs and delicate oxidation notes that give it its dark, slightly smoky spiciness.

Palate

On the palate, it opens with a rapid pull and a taut nature – no doubt about it: This is all about flow. Fueled by its delicately salty character, its extract-rich, fruity core lends it depth and, above all, length. The salt invites repeated pours, while the fine phenolics set gustatory guidelines on the palate and guide everything in one direction: down the throat! A brilliant debut with Jurassic character.
