The vines grow on limestone and slate.

Vinification

The hand-picked grapes were spontaneously fermented in large wooden barrels and amphorae after one week of skin contact. The wine was bottled unfiltered and without the addition of sulfur.

Colour

Cloudy purple with lightening towards the rim.

Nose

The 2022 Out of the Dark Blaufränkisch is a true seducer. What vibrancy and freshness flows from the glass. Small red berries are just as present as sour cherries and sweet strawberries. The fruit is underscored by stony minerality and delicate notes of thyme, as well as a hint of marzipan. A wonderful opening that tempts and entices the first sip.

Palate

This Blaufränkisch is refreshing across the board. No noticeable tannin, an invigorating fruitiness and acidity, and a fine mineral touch that lets it glide weightlessly across the palate. You’ll simply want to finish the bottle, and that’s especially enjoyable when paired with spicy and hearty cuisine. A wonderful wine! Best enjoyed chilled from large glasses.
