Description
Stefan Hajszan, the founder of the winery, was the first Viennese winemaker to convert to biodynamic farming, in 2006. In 2014 he sold the winery to Fritz Wieninger and emigrated to New Zealand. Fritz Wieninger deliberately continues to run the 20 ha winery under the old name and attaches great importance to ensuring that the wines remain stylistically independent. The vineyards are mainly located in the first-class sand-lime sites on the Nussberg and occasionally in the bedrock sites in Grinzing. Great importance is attached to origin and the wines are produced as single-vineyard bottlings. A line of mash-fermented white wines, offered under the name “Natural” and produced without any influence such as fining, filtration, and sulphur, round off the range and impress with a firework of aromatic diversity and great originality. The first Viennese Gemischter Satz “natural wine”!
