The Extremadura region has almost as much vineyard area as all of Germany, but boasts few well-known wineries. Bodegas Habla is a notable exception in this regard, with top-quality wines that enjoy great popularity both at home and abroad. Their “Habla La Tierra 2022” is a blend of Tempranillo, Syrah, and Cabernet Sauvignon. This wine is an affordable entry-level wine from Bodegas Habla and is characterized by juicy fruit and drinkability. It was aged for four months in French barriques.

Transparent cherry red

Nose

This red wine offers a bouquet of red and dark fruits such as raspberry and blackberry. Sweet aromas reminiscent of fig and mulberry also emerge. Overall, the nose is impeccably fresh and not overly charged, but clearly defined.

Palate

The Habla La Tierra 2022 has a moderate 13% alcohol content, which is surprising given the hot climate in Extremadura. The wine is juicy and fruity on the palate, with elegant, soft tannins and a beautifully integrated acidity that lends the wine good tension. The wood is also barely noticeable and well integrated. Overall, this red wine is leaner, fresher, and less oaky than it was ten years ago. This reflects the influence of the new Spain, which favors more transparent and less heavy red wines. Added to this is the excellent price-performance ratio.
