Product description for Grand Côtes du Jura, Chardonnay “La Grande Chaude” 2023 (bio)
Wine Information
A Chardonnay from the La Grande Chaude vineyard. 100% Chardonnay was harvested by hand and, after destemming, spontaneously fermented in oak barrels. Aging took place in multi-year oak barrels.
Color
Medium golden yellow
Nose
The 2023 “La Grande Chaude” is a spicy and zesty Chardonnay, whose aroma is reminiscent of lemon and lime zest, green apples and pears, a hint of sage, and rock.
Palate
On the palate, the Chardonnay is clear and fresh, juicy, and slightly silky in texture. While it initially combines ripe, white-fleshed fruit with citrus notes, notes of undergrowth, rock, and a hint of caramel quickly emerge. The wine has substance, is powerful, has volume and power, provides a slight warmth on the palate and a good length with a fine saltiness.
