Wine Information

100% Savagnin from Château-Chalon En Beaumont. At the time of harvest, the vineyard was still in the pre-organic phase, but organic viticulture began in 2015. The grapes were harvested by hand. Fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks, and aging took place in oak barrels under the flor layer.

Nose

The AOP Château-Chalon Vin Jaune is intense, dense, yet incredibly fresh and precise, with notes of mature Comté, hazelnuts and walnuts, peat and smoke, a touch of iodine, and hints of candied lemon peel, bitter orange, and grapefruit.

Palate

On the palate, the En Beaumont is lively and youthful, mouthwateringly salty and powerful, icy dry yet endowed with a delicate sweetness. It is a wine with light tannins that appears powerful and racy, offering a complex flavor profile. These include notes of walnuts and lightly roasted hazelnuts, curry, candied ginger, iodine, and plenty of salt, lemon peel, and apple peel. A wine full of tension and depth, great finesse, and vibrant energy.
