Wine Information

Flores de Callejo is the freshest expression of a Tinto Fino. It comes from the La Emilia, La Huelga, Astrales, Jaime, and Sandelaisa vineyards in Sotillo de la Ribera. The vineyards are located between 830 and 850 meters above sea level, and the vines are rooted in limestone-marl and primarily clay soils. After a cool pre-fermentation, the grapes were destemmed, fermented spontaneously, and fermented in a cement cuvée with as little extraction as possible, before being aged for five months.

Nose

Flores de Callejo is indeed a floral-scented wine, reminiscent of violets. Then there are black cherries and cranberries, some beetroot and black tea, and a hint of balsamic vinegar.

Palate

On the palate, the Tinto Fino, aka Tempranillo, is pure and unadulterated, with juicy, crisp dark fruit, a few hints of cinnamon, and a cool acidity. The tannins also appear fresh in this juicy yet tart red wine, which is fleshy and lively.
