Wine Information

100% Syrah from the heart of the vineyard, planted in an extremely rocky location near the lake in Riparbella.

Vine Information

Maceration and fermentation take place for 15-18 months in French oak tonneaux and barriques. The Suisassi was neither fined nor filtered.

Colour

Deep dark cherry red, black at the core, violet reflections towards the rim.

Nose

The 2020 Suisassi presents itself powerfully with dense fruit: cassis, cassis liqueur, elderberry juice, and blueberry compote fill the nose. The balsamic herbal notes, reminiscent of sage, rosemary, thyme, and eucalyptus, are just as intense as the fruit. The whole is accompanied by elegant and subtle notes of tobacco and leather, which indicate the sensitive aging in barriques.

Palate

On the palate, it impresses with its fruit and density; Luca D’Attoma is increasingly succeeding in perfecting his wine style. We encounter a silky elegance and unparalleled playfulness, integrated into the juicy fruitiness. Every sip tempts us to take another – a perfect Syrah, whose higher alcohol content is not noticeable at all. This, too, is biodynamic; the wines appear harmonious and complete.
