Wine Information

Cabernet Franc from the best plots of the Riparbella vineyard, which faces the Tyrrhenian Sea. Matured according to biodynamic guidelines in conical wooden barrels, then aged in barriques. Bottled without clarification or filtration. Duemani is biodynamically certified according to Demeter.

Colour

Muted garnet red, almost black at the core with violet reflections.

Nose

Wow! You can literally immerse yourself in this deep and charming aroma, characterized by sweet black cherries and blackberries. With the necessary oxygen contact, fine dark chocolate, grilled chestnuts, teriyaki sauce, and milky coffee emerge. Cool, stony aromas of Kampot pepper, wild sage, eucalyptus, and a hint of green bell pepper add finesse and pique curiosity for the first sip.

Palate

The 2020 Cabernet Franc flows juicy and sweetly across the palate, with an extremely noble tannin structure and an invigorating acidity enveloped by a salty minerality. Despite its power, it shines with unexpected lightness and finesse. Luca D’Attoma masterfully handles the Cabernet Franc grape variety, combining freshness with spicy depth. It offers excellent aging potential and a fantastic food companion.

The 2020 Duemani is classy, refined and supple. Mocha, dried herbs, menthol, rose petals and succulent red/purplish fruit all meld together effortlessly. A bit of aeration brings out the wine’s energy and vibrancy, both of which are admirable. I would give it a year or two in bottle to see if a more aromatic Franc character emerges. Today, the 2020 is still very much on the fruity side.
