Description
Adrien Roustan wanted a challenge. He studied in Beaune and Dijon, did his internship at Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, and gained experience with cult winemaker Larry Turley in St Helena, California. Back at the Rhône, he was able to take over four hectares of Gigondas vineyards from his grandfather in 2009. They are located at an altitude of 520 metres on the southern slope of the Dentelles de Montmirail, which is why he named his estate Domaine D’Ouréa, after the Greek mountain god. Adrien immediately switched to organic farming, was certified in 2012, and was finally able to work biodynamically from 2020. In the meantime, his estate comprises 20 hectares in the AOPs Gigondas, Vacqueyras, Côtes du Rhône, and IGP Vaucluse. He follows his own philosophy, harvests by hand at a maximum of 14% by volume, vinifies naturally without oenological agents and without wood, and bottles early. His vibrant, finesse-rich wines taste immediately, but can age for decades.
Free yourself from the convenient tyranny of other people’s tasting notes! We encourage you to find out about the wines from the producers themselves by visiting their website.
