Product description for de l’Enclos Chablis Grand Cru Blanchot AOC 2023

The wine comes from a plot of just 0.23 hectares, planted by the father of the Bouchard brothers in 1982. It is located in a low and steeply sloping part of Blanchot. After hand-harvesting on September 13, 2023, slow whole-bunch pressing, and spontaneous fermentation, the wine was aged in used oak and bottled on November 18, 2024, with a total sulphur content of 59 mg/l.

Nose

The 2023 Chablis Grand Cru from the Blanchot vineyard is an elegant, fragrant, and intense Chablis, which the Bouchards pack into newer barrels. Accordingly, the aromas of wood and vanilla are somewhat more intense, which makes this Grand Cru very sexy, as the wood is of the highest quality and well integrated with the white and yellow-fleshed fruit, reminiscent of pears, apricot cream, star fruit, and lemon curd with blanched almonds.

Palate

The slight intensity of the wood is also evident on the palate, and here, too, it combines very well with the juicy and creamy fruit, the silky texture, and the elegant acidity of the Blanchot. The result is a wine that is both noble and energetic, salty and piquant, mouthwatering and powerful.
