Il Corzanello Rosso is a cuvée of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, and, depending on the year, a sip of Merlot. The grapes from the coldest plots are harvested by hand and brought to the winery chilled. There they are crushed, destemmed, and then macerated for about five days. Fermentation occurs spontaneously with its own yeasts between 18 and a maximum of 22°C. The maceration is relatively short so as not to extract too many tannins. Alcoholic fermentation is followed by malolactic fermentation and five months of aging in steel.

Colour

Transparent ruby red with delicate violet reflections.

Nose

“Tuscany!” practically screams from the glass, leaving no doubt about the origin and grape varieties. Although a good sip of Cabernet dominates the cuvée, the overall appearance is thoroughly Tuscanified and declines the aromatic keyboard like a textbook: Small cherries and bay leaves outline its fruity, joyful nature, a touch of tobacco and leather along with the local maquis underpin the opus with herbal, spicy, and tart notes.

The palate 100% lives up to its nose’s promises and delivers your daily dose of Tuscany, wherever you’re thirsting: With clear fruit and a light body, it is also juicy and transparent on the palate with fresh verve and the typically Tuscan flavour profile. Bright red, shining with herbal, spicy, and tart notes and a cool finish. Uncomplicated in the best sense of the word, with a high satisfaction factor for every occasion.
