Product description for Clemens Krutzler CK Mash-Up 2023
Wine Information
A mash-up of 50% Blaufränkisch and 50% Welschriesling. Macerated overnight in an open fermentation rack, the wine was pressed directly into used barrels the following morning, fermented spontaneously, and aged on the full lees for seven months in barrels. Limited to 900 bottles.
Colour
Deep rosé, almost a claret, but slightly lighter than the CK Rosé.
Nose
The CK Mash has a subtle aroma and currently appears rather reserved. The wine is reminiscent of black stalls and grape skins with slightly acidic accents of sour cherries and cranberries, some crushed rock, and herbs.
Palate
On the palate, this is a pleasantly distinctive, juicy, salty, red berry, and sour cherry wine with fine tannins and crisp acidity. The wine is straightforward, precise, and structured with subtle rock and herbal spice. It is a lively, fresh wine with a good portion of tannin.
