The vines for Montepulciano d’Abruzzo grow on lean clay-limestone soils. The grapes are harvested by hand, destemmed, and gently crushed before being transferred to stainless steel tanks and fermenting spontaneously with their own yeasts. The grape skins are gently pounded by hand to prevent the harsh extraction of tannins. The maceration process usually lasts about a week, after which the skins are separated from the wine and gently pressed.

Intense, dark ruby red.

Nose

Dark fruits with a hint of black fruit character outline the nose of Francesco Cirelli’s 2023 Montepulciano d’Abruzzo: black mulberries, black cherries, blackberries, and plum jam, along with cloves, fill its fruit basket. A hint of red currant and a twisted blackberry leaf provide freshness and a herbal aroma. Well-balanced and balanced – a Montepulciano straight from a picture book.

Palate

With juicy, generous fruit on the palate, it reveals its fruity and joyful side. The rich extract is ensnared by fluffy, soft tannins, and it appears almost powdery on the palate – so delicate and tightly woven does it coat the mouth.
