Description
Product description for Chêne Bleu Viognier IGP 2023 (bio)
Wine Information
This Viognier comes from 20-year-old vines located at an elevation of 550 meters facing north. The soil is characterized by clay and limestone, and is very stony. After gentle pressing and spontaneous fermentation, the wine was aged for eight months in demi-muids.
Color
Medium straw yellow
Nose
As one would expect from a Viognier, this white wine is a fragrant wine, initially reminiscent of jasmine and broom, acacia blossoms, honeysuckle, and clover. Added to this are hints of beeswax, peaches, and apricots. Due to the vineyards’ altitude, this wine also possesses cool elements such as lemon peel and lemongrass, underscored by a hint of pineapple, vanilla, and wood.
Palate
On the palate, this Viognier is incredibly charming. It’s a velvety wine, playing with ripe acidity and a certain richness, yet never heavy or overly rich. In addition to the aforementioned floral and fruit notes, there are hints of vanilla and pear, almonds, and lily of the valley.
