The Chêne Bleu winery is located not far from Gigondas in the Dentilles de Montmirail in the Vaucluse department. Bottled as a Vin de Pays, the Chêne Bleu rosé is a cuvée of ancient Grenache Noir with Mourvedre and Grenache blanc.

Colour

Pale pink, radiant and clear.

Nose

The joyful nose is red and fresh, underlined by white blossoms and light stone fruit, forming the exhilarating backdrop for this Provençal still life: a stone house next to purple lavender fields in the heart of the Vaucluse. It’s not without reason that this type of rosé is a global leitmotif for this genre. A touch of Mediterranean maquis, the scent of bay leaves, thyme, and rosemary, and a rosy-cheeked vineyard peach complete the impression.

Palate

Juicy with extract-rich fruit that doesn’t rely on plump cheeks, but rather on a taut, stringent aroma. Coupled with the fine phenolics, the peach peel and stone are more evident, the currant leaves, and the delicately spicy herbal notes of the nose. It is airily knitted on the palate with the right balance of concentration and easy drinking flow. Serious ease par excellence.
