Description
The family of the winegrower Etienne de Bonnaventure can look back on a long, glorious past. Etienne’s ancestor Jean de Garguesalle was field marshal to King Charles VII. On 1 March 1429, he accompanied the king to a meeting with Joan of Arc in Chinon, who conveyed her prophecies to Charles VII about his upcoming coronation in Reims. Despite his illustrious origins, Etienne de Bonnaventure has no air of arrogance about him. He is a winemaker through and through – he loves the modest and down-to-earth life of a winegrower. His world is the vineyards and the wine cellar. In complete contrast to this are his wines, which shine with complexity and finesse. They have the fine polish that one desires from a great wine of such origin and tradition.
