Description
Product description for Château de Coulaine Château de Coulaine AOC 2023 (bio)
Wine Information
The Chinon is a Cabernet Franc from a blend of different plots on the slopes and plateaus near the château. They share a soil of calcareous sand and silt, while the tuff parent rock remains deep below. The Cabernet is aged for ten months in 60-hectoliter concrete cuvées.
Colour
Crimson red
Nose
The simple Chinon from Bonnaventures is full of dark, fresh, juicy fruit and slightly tart, spicy notes. This blend of cassis, sour cherry, blackberry, and barberry, combined with herbs, dry wood, and a hint of black stallion, is immediately tempting.
Palate
On the palate, the wine delivers on what you expected from the aroma. The wine is lively, pure, and delicately spicy, with an invigorating acidity and the unadulterated dark, ripe, and juicy fruit of Cabernet Franc. This is a fun drink with character for a relatively low price; the Château de Coulaine provides a fine grip and a pleasant crunch, while its tart notes create a tamed wildness.
