Product description for Charles Joguet Les Petites Roches, rouge AOC 2020 (bio)Domaine Charles Joguet is one of the Loire’s most renowned Cabernet Franc wineries. Joguet founded it in 1957 and produced many excellent wines until his retirement in 1997. This was followed by a period of reinvention for the Genet family, who had joined the winery in 1985. The 20-hectare estate, including around two hectares planted with Chenin Blanc, was converted to organic farming, which was certified in 2016. Among the winery’s legendary sites, which produce wines that have distinguished themselves for decades, are the monopoly vineyards Clos de la Chêne Vert on the right bank of the Vienne River and the Clos de la Dioterie, already mentioned in the Middle Ages and located directly next to the winery on the left bank of the Vienne River. The entry-level wines are aged in concrete, the mid-level wines in large wooden vats, and the crus in tonneaux with a small proportion of new barrels.
