Wine Information

The vineyards, planted with 30-year-old vines, are situated on the pink granite of the village of Poncié, slope to the southwest, and produce small grapes. The skins are fermented for 10 days in the ZEN “carbonique” maceration, followed by final fermentation and aging in 8-year-old barrels.

Colour

Translucent cherry red with ruby reflections.

Nose

An extremely complex aroma emerges from the glass: red fruits such as wild raspberries and red currants are joined by ethereal aromas of ivy, violets, and tarragon, as well as hints of tree bark, licorice, and green pepper. Its fresh and cool style is evident from the very nose with its beautiful presence, enticing the first sip.

Palate

The 2021 Fleurie Climat “Poncié” is light-footed and full of fruit on the palate. Its tannin structure is extremely mild, and the acidity is delicate and invigorating. A delicate fruit sweetness lends it a seductive touch. A wine that conveys pure drinking pleasure, best enjoyed slightly chilled from Burgundy glasses.
