Product description for Bakkanali Bakkanali Rosso IGT NV
Wine Information
A single-varietal Rosso made from Sangiovese from 3.5 hectares on Monte Amiata at an altitude of 600 meters. The soil is characterized by carbonate and limestone marl. The vines are 15 years old and are in the process of converting to biodynamics. The wine was fermented spontaneously with around 20% whole bunches and aged in stainless steel.
Colour
Quite intense but transparent cherry red.
Nose
The 2020 Rosso from Bakkanali offers a delicate aroma of wild strawberries and raspberries, especially sour cherries and a hint of blood orange. This blends with a hint of rust and herbs, some earth, rock, and leather.
Palate
On the palate, the Sangiovese is fresh and juicy, with plenty of red fruit, which is authentically conveyed by the aging in stainless steel. The minerality of the carbonate rock is as tingling as the light saltiness and lively acidity. In addition, there is a ripe sweetness in the fruit, which is embraced by silky tannins and leads to a pleasantly long finish.
