The one-liter bottle of wine is a symbol of conviviality, condensed into the Unlitro, whose shape and size are intended to evoke the joy and lightheartedness of being together. This cuvée of Alicante, Carignano, Mourvèdre, Sangiovese, and Alicante Bouschet comes from the youngest vineyards near the sea. Uncomplicated in the best sense, it is a frankly authentic sip of Maremma for every day. The grapes were harvested in late August/early September, followed by three days of maceration on the skins before spontaneous fermentation with its own yeasts and subsequent maturation for five months in concrete tanks. The Unlitro was first produced in 2011 and has a production volume of 160,000 bottles.

Nose

The 2023 Unlitro from Ampeleia combines all the impressions that uninhibitedly trigger the feeling of Tuscany: The red, juicy fruit smells of heart cherries, mulberries, and currants. Added to this are the wildly spicy aromas of wild thyme, rosemary, and bay leaves from the wild maquis. Weightless and exhilarated by existence, it nonchalantly flanks the joys of everyday life.

Palate

Super juicy on the first sip, everything is in balance with the Unlitro. The youthfully fresh fruit is fueled by a touch of fermentation carbon dioxide and stimulatingly tart tannins, which give it additional flow speed. A universal drink with a consistently joyful, authentic nature. And because the liter is a quarter longer, you’ll be twice as likely to pour more.
