Wine Information

Alta Alella is one of the few producers of absolute top-class Cavas outside the Penedès region. The winery is located in a natural park directly on the Mediterranean Sea and within sight of Barcelona. A special feature of the Alella region is the “Sauló” granite-sand soil, which gives the wines lively acidity and low pH values — ideal for long aging. Laietà Rosé is a single-varietal Monastrell from biodynamic cultivation. The grapes undergo a 10-hour cold maceration and are then pressed directly. Classified as a Gran Reserva, this sparkling wine is aged on its lees for between 36 and 48 months (not all bottles are disgorged at the same time). It is also a Brut Nature with no residual sugar.

Nose

The Laietà Rosé 2019 has an elegant bouquet with notes of red grapefruit, strawberries, white flowers, and delicate toast. The overall nose is complex and fresh.

Palate

This sparkling rosé is wonderfully fresh and offers clear, precise fruit aromas of grapefruit and crisp strawberries. In Cavas with red fruit aromas, the long lees aging usually doesn’t come through as strongly. This is also the case here. What you can recognize, however, is the creaminess of the texture and the fineness of the perlage. The Laietà Rosé 2019 has a certain depth and complexity; it appears very clean, is taut, bone-dry and mineral in the mouth and has a salty finish that further contributes to the character and complexity.
