Product description for Alône Rosé “ATMO” NV
Information on the history of the wine
Every time Pascale Jourdan and Christian Ott passed the solitary oak tree at the entrance to the winery, they were captivated by this magnificent oak tree. The presence of this centuries-old tree on such sandy soil promised the unique quality of a terroir. Twenty years later, they acquired this fascinating site to establish their winery. Pascale and Christian wanted to break free from conventions. Passionate winemakers to the extreme, for 25 years they have been creating unique and distinctive wines that thrive on an exceptional terroir. At Domaine Alône, they are now writing their own story. There, in complete freedom, they produce wines derived from natural viticulture. A small river, the Lône, flows alongside the winery. When you were looking for a name for the wine, we immediately thought of a play on words, adding an “a” to the river’s name: Alône—the English word for “alone”—perfectly illustrated your approach. Alône is also a reference to the great-grandfather, who planted his vineyard in the South of France alone and completely unknown in 1896.
Vineyard Details
Each vineyard is treated individually, with pruning that respects sap flow, foliar treatments based on trace elements, and fertilizers developed after precise soil analyses. Atmo is a non-vintage blend; the Grenache, Cinsault, and Syrah grape varieties grow at altitudes of 420 and 470 meters, with temperature fluctuations of 18°C at night and 35°C during the day during the summer.
Color
Delicate apricot with lightening toward the edges.
Nose
The aroma is seductive and charming, with notes of peach, ripe raspberries and blackberries, wild herbs, and white pepper. It immediately captivates you, and you begin to dream of the warmth and aromatic diversity of this beautiful region.
Palate
On the tongue, an interplay of spice, delicate fruit, and fruity sweetness takes place. This is beautifully accompanied by a lively acidity and a subtle salty note. A symbol of a rosé from Provence, which practically calls for the accompaniment of culinary delicacies from this region.
