In Gotes del Montsant, a selection of vineyards with calcareous, clayey soils, well exposed to wind, is located. The Grenache comes from Marca, while the Carignan grows in Masroig. Due to the different origins, the vines’ age and altitude vary considerably. They average 40 to 65 years, and the altitudes range from 300 to 700 meters.

The grape varieties and vineyards are planted and fermented individually—sometimes with whole bunches and stems. Maceration and fermentation take place in steel tanks for 20 days. The pomace cap is repeatedly gently tapped down. The wine is aged for twelve months in foudres and used French oak barrels.

Color

Deep, dark violet with vibrant, raspberry-red reflections – dense and intensely colored in the glass.

Nose

From the very first moment, jammy and opulent, characterized by a rich fruitiness. Black and red fruits dominate: ripe cherries, juicy blackberries, and dark berry jam. With a little airing, citrus notes emerge, as well as exotic, juicy mango, which lends the wine a surprising freshness. Delicate floral nuances – especially violets – and a fine mineral undertone are reminiscent of pure rock and add additional depth.

Palate

Very approachable, round, and soft on the palate – a pleasing wine with barely noticeable rough edges. The fruit aromas remain present, embedded in a good structure with fine balance. The fresh elements create elegant contrasts with the ripe fruit without being overpowering. A wine that shines equally on its own and as a versatile food companion.
