Domaine Albert Mann is the merger of two great winemaking families: the Mann family, who have been growing wine since the beginning of the 17th century, and the Barthelmé family, the current owners, who have been active in winemaking since 1654. Located in Wettolsheim on the Alsace Wine Route, each plot of the 25-hectare estate is individually cultivated according to organic and biodynamic principles. The vines for this Gewürztraminer are planted on gravel and clay-limestone soils and have an average age of around 35 years.

Nose

The 2022 Gewürztraminer from Albert Mann is a disciplined representative of its kind. Instead of coming on too strong with its aromatic approach, it practices refined diplomacy and subtle hints. Delicate floral notes of elderflower, cinnamon, and mace, as well as delicately zesty nuances of orange and pomelo, dominate the palate. A mangosteen and a rambutan fill the aroma basket for connoisseurs.

Palate

On the first sip, it surprises with a delicate residual sweetness, allowing the subtle bouquet of aromas from the nose to fully blossom. Candied orange peel, kumquats, elderflower syrup, and a piece of fully ripe mango fill its fruit basket. Mild spices such as cloves, allspice, and cinnamon blossoms are also present. With a viscous texture and complex aromas, it has good impact on the palate and calls for aromatically strong cuisine.
