Product description for Gramona Argent, Brut 2017 (bio)The Argent line seems to be the wild card in the Gramona family, where Xarel·lo otherwise sets the tone. In fact, this single-varietal Chardonnay is a tribute to the sparkling wine ancestors in Champagne, who brought the art of the second bottle fermentation to the Penedès. The Chardonnay grows on limestone soils in the 23-year-old Mas Escorpí vineyard. The Gramona family cultivates a great love for Champagne grape varieties and produces a limited number of this Corpinnat from small yields, bringing acidity, length, and complexity to perfection in the glass. Only 50% of the must is gently pressed from the whole grapes. It is aged for 44 months in the bottle under natural corks and is riddled and disgorged by hand. Dosage of 6 grams.

Colour

Lemon yellow with silver reflections, fine perlage.

Nose

Intense nose, characterized by citrus fruits and white flowers, a hint of walnut and a light herbal spice underpinned by a scent of ripe apple.

Palate

It also presents itself multi-layered on the palate. Mineral, powerful, and slightly salty with fine acidity and a clearly present perlage. The harmonious citrus aromas and fine apple fruit are refreshing, and the nutty finish brings a full-bodied, creamy nuance that lingers. Serving temperature: 8-10°C
