Wine Information

100-year-old vines from Samsó, aka Carineña, or Carignan Noir, in a limestone-rich location, spontaneously fermented and aged in demi-muid. 663 bottles were produced.

Colour

Medium garnet red

Nose

This Carignan from old vines has a clear, concentrated aroma of pickled plums, blackberries, and black cherries, accompanied by pine resin and licorice, anise, fennel, and violets. There are also some very fresh notes of pomegranate juice and orange peel.

Palate

On the palate, the wine is seductively ripe, sensual, and silky, with a very fine texture reminiscent of grated dark chocolate. It’s impressive how the ripe yet present acidity, combined with the lively minerality, creates a cool touch. This is an aromatic, complex, and precisely defined wine of great beauty with an excellently long and intense finish.
