The 2023 Auxerrois 350 N.N. opens with a deep, precise and coolish bouquet with intense sur lie aromas and some oak nuances. It is richer on the still-a-bit-untamed nose than the corresponding Weissburgunder Pinot Blanc due to a certain share of barrel fermentation. The wine is round and not fully dry on the palate, which gives a little freakiness since the wine is textural and smooth anyway and again shows its barrique soul. It is playful and well-balanced though and just everything but usual. The finish is already stimulating due to its fine acidity and mineral grip. 11% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted in October 2024.
