Info

The vines are located in various areas of this vast Côtes du Rhône appellation. 2 hectares in Orange, 1 hectare in Maucoil, and 1 hectare in Bois Lauzon. Grenache, Syrah, and only a small amount of Mourvèdre go into the cuvée. The vines grow on alluvial soils and clay. The grapes are checked both in the vineyard and on the sorting table. Completely destemmed, they are then pressed, and fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature. The pomace cap is pumped over daily. The wine then ages in cement tanks, and after 10 months, it is bottled.

Colour

Clear cherry red with a slightly pale rim.

Nose

The nose is initially restrained and delicate. The fruit is alive with rosehip, red currant, raspberry, and plum. Never intrusive, rather a tendency towards unripe and acidic fruit. The finest hints of lavender and thyme fill the air. The nose transports you to the region and you can sense this mixture of sun and wind. Very faintly, it evokes memories of pine bark and a hint of forest floor. Juniper and black pepper are natural partners.

Palate

It brings out exactly this quiet and shy nature on the palate as well. The fruit is kept in check and very delicate. It flows slowly over the palate, but is no less exciting. An absolutely uncomplicated drink for every day and every occasion. Its spicy attributes set accents, but by no means dominate. Pure nonchalance. Unobtrusive, but a charming companion to every moment.
