Product description for Foradori Morei Teroldego Vigneti delle Dolomiti IGT 2018 (bio)
Colour
Dark ruby red with violet reflections.
Nose
Violets and blueberries, elderberry, mallow, and mulberries weave the dark fruity velvety robe of the 2018 Morei Teroldego from Vigeti delle delle Dolomiti by Foradori. With Teroldego’s typical floral top note, it always seems somewhat more opulent on the nose than it ultimately presents itself on the palate.
Palate
With silky-fine tannins reminiscent of the finest sandpaper, the Morei is refreshing, invigorating, and clear on the palate. The dark fruit of the nose dissolves into an experience of transparent fruit, vibrant acidity, and pulsating freshness. With an ethereally cool finish, it flows into a fruity, clear finish with an invigoratingly tart aftertaste. A quick drink with a clear character of origin.

Score: 94
The 2018 Teroldego Morei (closed in a wax-sealed bottle) is fermented on the skins in amphorae. Fruit comes from the estate’s 2.5-hectare Morei vineyard with alluvial soils and lots of rocks. This is the sister wine to Foradori’s other single-vineyard expression from Sgarzon, and of the two, this one offers a little more heft and power. The wine reveals dark berry and dried cherry aromas, and you do taste the tannic firmness from the skins. That dark fruit cedes to elements of licorice, potting soil and dried rose.

The 2018 Teroldego Morei from Foradori is simply stunning. Aromas of fresh strawberries, violets, wild herbs, spiced orange peels and wet stone form up in the glass, creating a captivating display. It’s soft with an inner sweetness that perfectly contrasts its cascading minerality and juicy acids. There’s a tart twang of sour red berries and inner florals that lasts and lasts and lasts. What a beautiful wine. Having worked their vineyards biodynamically for years, the Foradori family decided to begin aging and bottling two parcels separately, both in Amphora. The Morei comes across as a bit prettier, lifted and saline than its counterpart, the Sgarzon.
