Wine Information

This Juliénas comes from granite soils with deep, clayey topsoil. The 0.5 hectares are southwest-facing and lie at an altitude of 260 meters. The grapes were harvested on August 22, 2022. Whole bunches were subjected to a ten-day carbonic maceration. The wine then completed fermentation and aged for over ten months in older Burgundy pièces before being bottled unfiltered and unfined. The pH is 3.51, and the total sulphur is 29 mg/l.

Colour

Light, transparent garnet red

Nose

This Beaujolais from the Bret brothers, transparent in both colour and aroma, opens with notes of sweet cherries, raspberries, and richly ripe plums, blended with tones of roses, violets, meadow herbs, and a hint of licorice.

Palate

On the palate, the loamy, deep soil provides a round texture with fine-grained tannins. Added to this is deep, juicy dark fruit from cherries and stewed plums and berries, which in turn are accompanied by a hint of licorice and piquant notes of stones and peels. Overall, this is the meatiest Beaujolais in the collection.
