A unique vineyard based on a unique clone. 100% Grenache. Biodynamics, practiced over the years, is now fully effective in this vineyard, resulting in more harmonious ripening results year after year. The vineyard is located in Montsant on sandy and calcareous soils. The 85-year-old vines are planted at an altitude of approximately 230 meters above sea level, with a planting density of 1,500 vines per hectare. Fermentation takes place in steel tanks with natural yeasts, and the wine is aged in large used French oak barrels for ten months until unfiltered bottling.

Colour

Slightly rusty ruby red with violet nuances and slight cloudiness.

Nose

Initially, the Grenache Noir Notaria appears quite reductive. This enhances its spiciness, which quickly takes over the entire room. This spice combines earthiness with abundant balsamic nuances. Limestone, wet forest floor, and undergrowth dominate this initial moment, with Mediterranean herbs like sage and rosemary mingling with black olives. Assam tea provides a certain depth and a brief moment of Zen. Leather, pepper, juniper, and even licorice intensify this feeling. Now the fruit tentatively emerges. Dark cherries, rosehip, and blackberry build patiently in the glass.

Palate

On the palate, it flows somewhat rough and rustically over the lips. Its tannin coats the mouth. Decanting is essential to separate the sediment. But it also shapes it in a positive way. A natural, intense wine that will also leave you speechless. It evokes fascination and enthusiasm. Its character, its masculine nature, flows gently into the spice. It thrives in it. The intense aromas of the nose are also reflected on the palate and in the finish. Long-lasting and balanced. The acidity is always stimulating, and its terroir leaves clear traces in the finish.
