Product description for Trapet Père & Fils Gevrey-Chambertin AOC 2022 (bio)
Colour
Bright cherry red with delicate violet hues
Nose
This Pinot Noir from Trapet smells seductively from the glass. For a Villages, it is already full of individuality and character. Its fruit appears surprisingly dark, though by no means concentrated. Blackcurrants can be found alongside cassis and blackberries. A hint of morello cherry provides a much-needed kick of freshness. It also presents its earthy side with spice and finesse. This is clearly reminiscent of wet stones. A touch of licorice is also mixed in, revealing not only balsamic spice but also ethereal freshness. Very stimulating and approachable.
Palate
It fills the glass with a strong, juicy and refreshing weight. It conquers both the room and the person just as quickly. Fruit and acidity duel on equal terms, which leads to a high drinking flow. Sour cherries dominate the aromas here. With intense herbal spice, it also appears light-footed and invigorating. Despite its silky structure, it still has a decent bite. Its very good tannin structure underlines this very pleasantly.

The 2022 Gevrey-Chambertin Village offers up aromas of sweet red berries, cherries, spices and dark chocolate, followed by a medium-bodied, lively and vibrant palate that’s bright and fine-boned.

Score: (88-90)
The 2022 Gevrey-Chambertin Village, blended with 30% whole bunches and aged in 500-liter barrels, has commendable delineation and fruité on the nose: raspberry and wild strawberry, becoming more tertiary in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with a ripe black-currant pastilles and white pepper-tinged entry, leaning more towards black fruit with a grippy, peppery finish. Good potential.
