Description
“…this could well be one of the next hot cult wines from Provence…”, Robert Parker could hardly have paid a better compliment to the young, likeable winemaker Philippe Gimel. His whole heart is in his wines and you can taste that very clearly in his wonderful cuvées, which are bursting with power, aromas, and spices. They are strongly reminiscent of great Châteauneuf-du-Pape wines. And that is no coincidence, because after his studies he worked at Château de Beaucastel. Even today, Claude Gouan, no less than the winemaker of this world-famous winery, is his mentor. He not only assists Philippe with advice and support, but also has a stake in the winery. He was the one who advised him to buy the excellent vineyards around Barroux. The complex soil structure and the special climate make his wines unique.
