The Riesling Turckheim vineyards are located on the municipality’s most barren alluvial soils. The gravelly soils with fine sand warm quickly, have good drainage, and ensure early ripening of the grapes.

Brilliant golden yellow, bright and clear.

Nose

The 2020 Turckheim Riesling from Zind Humbrecht is tidy and clear on the nose. With distinctive spicy notes, it is reminiscent of nutshells, mace, and fresh bread crust. Expansive fruit is sought in vain here, but with increasing aeration, some citrus zest reveals itself, underpinned by a subtle kernel note. A Riesling like from another era.

Palate

On the palate, the Turckheim Riesling is also spicy, with tart, contouring phenolics. Aromatically, the nose reflects a distinct tendency toward mace, along with a leafy texture thanks to ripe tannins. Rich on the palate with an oily texture, it is persistent with a long finish and subtle spicy notes on the aftertaste. The antipode to the GlouGlou wine.
