Wine Information

Costabisaccia is a 30-year-old, north-facing vineyard in the hills around Grisì, located around 25 kilometers southeast of Alcamo. The indigenous Catarratto grape grows there at 600 meters above sea level and consistently produces age-worthy wines with distinct varietal character.

Vine Information

The grapes are pressed and macerated on the skins at a controlled temperature for 24 hours. Fermented spontaneously in steel tanks, the wine matures on the lees for six months before being released.

Colour

Brilliant golden yellow with green and silvery reflections.

Nose

The 2023 Costabisaccia presents itself as a fruit basket full of exotic fruits. Orange, mango, pineapple, and banana open the palate, accompanied by a variety of herbs such as sage, eucalyptus, and chamomile. The whole is rounded off with a subtle hint of vanilla and a touch of anise.

Palate

On the tongue, it’s the delightful combination of tart spice and juicy yellow fruit, as well as stimulating acidity, that makes this wine so special. A wonderful food companion with a charming structure and beautiful length and depth. A lot of wine in the glass for little money—a great discovery!
