Information about the wine

A Minima has a long tradition at Trapet. Especially in Burgundy, A Minima stands for an excellent passe-tout-grains blend of Pinot Noir and Gamay. In Alsace, Andrée Trapet wanted to create a white version of the red A Minima, which has been available since 2012. The fruit comes from the Rosembourg terroir, where a very old Sylvaner, a Pinot, an Auxerrois, and a plot of Gewürztraminer are planted. Andrée decided to add a little Muscat, and, extending from Rosembourg, another Muscat from the Grand Cru Schoenenbourg. A little Pinot Gris and some Riesling also come from the same sector. So, there are six grape varieties here. The musts did not receive any SO2, but the wine was made with minimal free SO2.

Nose

The 2022 A Minima Blanc is a fragrant and aromatic wine that doesn’t hide its Muscat and Gewürztraminer flavours. There are plenty of roses, nutmeg, linden blossoms, and aniseed in the mix, as well as grapefruit with peel, ripe apples, and a hint of honeydew melon. What’s fascinating is that the wine is fresh and lightly fragrant.

Palate

The A Minima Blanc is also a great seduction on the palate. The wine boasts fantastic freshness with ripe acidity, yet lively minerality. It possesses a fine tannin and plenty of saltiness, which immediately waters the mouth. In the finish, the aromatic fruit is overshadowed by a deep spiciness. It’s great fun!
