Wine Information

Terroir Sense Fronteres is the Montsant project of Terroir al Límit, Dominik Huber’s winery in Priorat. In fact, the Montsant vineyard, Montals, is just a stone’s throw away from Huber’s Priorat vineyard, Les Manyes. The Garnacha and Cariñena grapes used for the Negre come from vineyards in Capçanes. They were fermented as whole-bunch grapes in stainless steel.

Colour

Elegant cherry red with lightening towards the rim.

Nose

The 2021 Negre has a seductive aroma of small red berries, sour cherries, and cranberries, underpinned by delicate spicy notes such as anise and cinnamon, as well as subtle hints of cedarwood and forest leaves. Fragrant notes of violets and roses complement its feminine character. This is underpinned by cool slate and graphite notes, lending the cuvée a wonderfully fresh impression.

Palate

On the tongue, pure, invigorating freshness, elegant fruit, and a fine-grained tannin structure make this a very stimulating red wine, one you’ll gladly enjoy more than one glass of. A perfect accompaniment to Mediterranean and southern cuisine.

The 2021 Negre was produced with Garnacha (no more Cariñena) from organically farmed vineyards (certified, but the wines are not) on clay soils. It fermented in stainless steel with full clusters and matured in those vats for six months. It’s light, juicy and floral, perfumed, fresh and easy to drink. 15,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in May 2022.
