Information
The grapes come from limestone soils in Villers-aux-Nœuds and from the clay-limestone slopes of Chamery. A blend of 50% Chardonnay, 25% Pinot Noir, and 25% Pinot Meunier was used here. There was no chaptalization, filtration, or tartar stabilization. No sulphur was added when the wine was disgorged after at least 36 months. Esprit de Solemme contains no dosage.
Colour
Light bronze with lively perlage.
Nose
Esprit de Solemme has an elegant aroma with a very distinctive character. Notes of noisette, pastry, and preserved lemon peel are mixed with aromas of fino sherry, some rock, and herbs.
Palate
These light sherry notes are also found on the palate, along with notes of ripe and mellow stone fruit, grapefruit peel, and citrus fruits. The champagne is dry and straight, with a prominent mousse and a chalky texture. It has a distinctive character.
