Description
Sangarida is the second project of the Fariña family. They founded it in Bierzo in 2019, having already been very successful with Bodegas Attis in the Rías Baixas. Bierzo is one of the great terroirs rediscovered in the last 30 years that produce a special class of wines from autochthonous varieties such as Mencía, Godello, and Doña Blanca, and from vineyards that are mostly ancient. The idea came about because the Fariñas’ mother came from El Bierzo and the family had contacts there. When the opportunity arose to open a winery there in 2019, the family jumped at it. The winery is run by Lía Fariña, with the active support of Jean-François Hébrard, who has been advising Bodegas Attis for a long time, has led Quinta de la Quietud to success, and is also involved with Emilio Valerio in Navarra.
Free yourself from the convenient tyranny of other people’s tasting notes! We encourage you to find out about the wines from the producers themselves by visiting their website.
