Description
Product description for Saint Jean Du Barroux Grenache Les Usclades VdF 2020 (bio)
Wine Information
This single-varietal Grenache Rouge comes from the Les Usclades plot, located at an altitude of 350 meters in the Dentelles de Montmirail. The rock dates back to the Middle Triassic. The vineyard is completely surrounded by forest and hedges. The grapes were harvested by hand on September 7, 2020, three-quarters destemmed, and fermented in a concrete cuvée. The wine then aged for eleven months in stainless steel and for nine months in the bottle.
Colour
Slightly transparent garnet red with a brightening rim.
Nose
The 2019 Les Usclades has a seductive aroma of ripe wild strawberries and raspberries combined with warm yeast notes, ripe plums, a hint of licorice, stalks, and rock.
Palate
On the palate, the single-varietal Grenache reveals its sensual side with plenty of warm, deep red, ripe fruit and round, almost melting tannins. The wine glides weightlessly and sensually across the palate, filling the mouth with warmth and fruit, but also with a fine tannin and sensual acidity.
