Product description for Roche-Audran Côtes du Rhône Rouge “Cuvée César” AOC 2020 (bio)
Vincent Rochette’s red César is made from 100% Grenache. The 80- to 100-year-old vines are located in the Coteaux Versant Nord in a three-hectare vineyard characterized by clay and limestone in the subsoil and alluvial alluvium and gravel in the topsoil. The yield is approximately 35 hl per hectare. The wine is spontaneously fermented and aged for twelve months in 50-hectoliter foudres made of Tronçais oak.

Nose
The César cuvée is a fragrant wine that creates a wonderful blend of ripe, sweet fruit and spices. It is reminiscent of dark raspberries and wild strawberries, some blackberry and cherries, and a hint of clove, cinnamon, and juniper combined with thyme, rosemary, and cedar.
Palate
On the palate, César is juicy and sensual, with plenty of ripe, dark fruit, a polished tannin reminiscent of the surface of fired clay, and a present, ripe acidity. The wine possesses power and depth, warmth and opulence, yet finds its center, appearing both fresh and clear. A finely spicy, exciting Grenache Noir.
